MHSA FILM FESTIVAL WHAT???
The MHSA (Mental Health, Suicide Awareness) Film Festival is an annual film festival that showcases independent short films from across the world that are representing the topics of mental health and suicide awareness/prevention. Film run times are anywhere from 3 mins to 30 mins, we do not show any films over 30 mins.
The MHSA Film Festival was created to open up the conversation around these potentially hard topics and watch films that can showcase these topics in a creative way. We are always blown away by the film entries every year which makes it hard for us to narrow down to the best of the best. We receive a ton of films from all over the world and do our best to showcase a wide range from multiple countries, as mental health and suicide have no boundaries.
This year 2022 we have chosen 14 total films and will be grouping them into 4 different chunks. During the film festival we have the film makers and their crew either in-person or via Zoom answering questions live from the audience and the host about their film and what their inspiration for making their films came from.
Why should you join us?
The films showcased are truly amazing.
Knowledge is power.
You never know which film will make an impact on your life or the lives around you.
